In the private school of Dezhi, the worst students aren’t the stereotypical ‘students with bad grades’. For example, the students in the last few classes.
It’s actually the top students who are born in rich families and hence have major decision-making power. For example, the student council, who are at the top of the food chain.
There is a rule in Dezhi School that if the student council wanted to remove a teacher and it is approved by a majority then the teacher would be fired. This rule not only applies to teachers but also to students who continuously violate the school rules and regulation as a way to deal with the irregularities in their quality.
To summarise it in a few words, if the people in the student council don’t like a person, there are ways for them to make it impossible for the person to stay.
In the world of top students, there are lots of rules and even more level/layers.
Of course, their attitude towards the individuals in the last class is to ignore them.
As long as they are honest and play in their own small territory and don’t come out they don’t mind them.
But Xu Pinyu was very bold since she was determined to provoke Shen Youbai, the president of the student council.
If Dezhi School was a kingdom then she, a civilian, wanted to pull the king’s clothes.
It was all to get the opportunity to meet the king of the kingdom, Shen Youbai.
She took on all the duties of Class K, including the roles of the monitor, study committee member, entertainment committee member, publicity committee member, etc., as well as those subject representatives who were not willing to send the homework.
Out of all the people in Class K, Xu Pinyu was the busiest person.
As a result, she became a regular visitor to the third-grade staff office which was on the same floor as all the top student’s classes.

Holding a stack of foreign language assignments in both hands, Xu Pinyu came to the faculty office and lifted her feet into the crack of the door to push the door open.
Chen Yan was talking to his colleagues about how he felt on his first day of morning duty when he saw Xu Pinyu enter.
He raised his eyebrow while pointing to her and said, “Ah, that’s the girl student I was talking about. Her skirt was extremely short.”
Xu Pinyu fixed her posture and blinked.
Although she had an innocent look on her face she secretly rejoiced in her heart that she had fixed her skirt back to its original length while she was in the toilet before she came into the teacher’s office.
Chen Yan was silent for a moment as he looked at the skirt that covered her knees and pushed down his glasses, “You performed magic!”
Class K’s teacher, Lin Hong’s smiling face had become serious but his voice was humorous, “Little Feather (Xiao Yu), quickly change into a pigeon for Teacher Chen.”
Xu Pinyu replied, “Reporting to the Class Teacher, I can’t change into a pigeon.”
Chen Yan is a new teacher this term. No wonder she looks unfamiliar.
Lin Hong introduced Xu Pinyu to Chen Yan, “This is Xu Pinyu, she’s the monitor of my class and is a member of various committees. She also delivers all the homework and she’s the class

Chen Yan nodded, opened the book on the table, found Xu Pinyu’s name, and scratched it off.

It was almost autumn, and the leaves on the top of the trees in the school were starting to turn yellow and falling quietly.
She looked out of the window and glanced carelessly at the people under the building.
One girl and two boys.
She didn’t know who the girl was but the two boys were Zhou Qishan and Shen Youbai.
Xu Pinyu quickly ran to the stairs at the end of the corridor, ran down two floors, and went to the window on the first floor.
From that distance, she could hear them, but she was blocked by a tree trunk.
The girl said, “ If classmate Shen Youbai talks with me, I’ll keep his secret.”
Shen Youbai frowned slightly but did not speak. His gaze silently questioned her.
The girl raised her chin and said proudly, “I saw you smoking in the gym this morning.”
Shen Youbai raised his eyebrows before he laughed out loud, his shoulders trembling as he laughed.
He put his hands into his pant’s pocket and turned away.
The girl didn’t expect him to completely ignore her, so she angrily shouted at his back, “I will tell the Director of the Disciplinary Committee!”
Shen Youbai looked back at her with an impatient look and said in a cold voice, “Do whatever you want.”

Xu Pinyu snapped back to her senses and calmly replied, “I’m just passing by.”
After saying those words she swiftly turned around and left.
The leaving Shen Youbai quickly turned around to look at the person because he had heard her sweet voice.
Xu Pinyu quickly took a few steps before slowing down her pace.
She thought to herself, what would happen if Shen Youbai met a strong-headed girl like the girl who had just confronted him? She was just like the female lead of many novels and TV dramas. What if he liked that type of girl and fell for her?
Everything would be over. Suddenly, a sense of crisis enveloped her.
After class ended in the evening she headed home with her friends, Chen Zixuan and Wei Yixun
The private cars for the noble children were parked in rows outside the school gate.
Chen Zixuan split from the group at the subway station while Wei Yixun went home with her on the same line.
While waiting for the subway train, Wei Yixun asked her, “Why are you so worried?”
“Is it that obvious?” Xu Pinyu asked.
He nodded, *“You almost can’t notice it.”
She sighed worriedly, “It’s difficult to tell you about, ah.”
Wei Yixun said with a smile, “Don’t worry too much. Didn’t you hear the headteacher announce that we will start preparing for the school festival in a couple of days? Has the Class Monitor of Class K decided what her class will do?
Xu Pinyu was stunned by his words before showing a pitiful face as she remembered something, “ Ah, that damned welcome ceremony is coming up soon.”
It was a tradition in Dezhi School to hold a Welcome Ceremony for the new students who had entered in their first year of school.
The festival would be a week-long event and even students who didn’t belong to their school could come to visit. As part of the festival, each class and club had to come up with an activity to show their character. It was also in order for the new students to integrate into their school life faster.
As a member of various committees and as the monitor of Class K, Xu Pinyu really wanted to pretend that she was dead.
The next day, the different tasks for the ceremony were being assigned by Lin Hongkou.
*However, Xu Pinyu was momentarily distracted by the new poster on the bulletin board of the first floor’s hall and hence didn’t want to think about what kind of bullshit was needed to greet the new students.
The poster was posted by the Student Union and the content was about being the assistant of the president.

Chen Zixuan shook her head, “It’s terrible. Don’t go and join the party of applying, there are too many people and you will be trampled by the crowd.”
Just kidding, how could Xu Pinyu listen to her.
This was a once-in-a-century chance, no, a once-in-a-millennium chance.
Xu Pinyu rushed back to class, stood on the platform and said quickly, “You guys come up with ideas on how our class should welcome the freshmen by yourselves and don’t disturb me while I’m writing my application!”
She took a deep breath and looked at the class with uninterested eyes before she returned to her seat. She took out a sheet of paper from a book and began thinking about how to write an application that would shine in other people’s eyes.
Three days later, Zhou Qishan entered the student meeting room and spotted the various application letters on the table piled up into a hill.
Qin Ran looked up from behind the hill of paper’s and rubbed his eyes, “Damn it, when will I be able to go through all these?”
Because there were so many students applying to the Student Union, they decided to screen out half of them before the interview and then inform the rest of the candidates about the interview timings.
Zhou Qishan smiled, “You can make your job much easier by knowing what to look for.”
He casually picked up an application to use as a demonstration and said, “For example, if this is from Class K, you can…”

Although Xu Pinyu was unwilling, she wanted to see who had been selected. So on the day of the interview, she also went.
The time of the interview was during lunch break in the lecture hall.
Xu Pinyu moved a chair and placed it under the window on the outer wall of the room. She stepped onto the chair placed under the window and peeked into the hall.
After all, since the interview was being conducted for his assistant, naturally Shen Youbai was also present for the interviewing process.
